Top 5 Spring Essentials for 2021

Wooo! First week of Spring and the weather in Dallas screams it. It's been beautifully sunny and a high of 75 the last week, and it truly makes me so giddy to see flowers begin to bloom and pastels begin to pop up everywhere.

Since starting this blog last August, I've loved creating content with classic items that you can wear and rewear a ton of different ways- which has led me to creating a post about 5 must have spring staples that I'm really into this year!

Lightweight Shacket

I'm a huge shacket fan- they're the best staple piece to throw on-and-go. I own a lot of thicker ones for winter, but I wanted to find the perfect lightweight shacket for transitioning into spring and summer. Both shackets (above and below) and from Forever21 and are under $40! They feel like a worn in tshirt on the inside and a lightweight beach jacket on the outside. You can button them up or leave them unbuttoned like I did with a bodysuit underneath!

Jean Jacket

I'm a sucker for a great jean jacket! I previously had one from Levis, but unfortunately lost it somewhere :( I needed a new one for spring, and one of my favorite boutiques, Leela and Lavender, had a new Free People one and it ended up being perfect! It's stretchy, comfortable as heck, and goes with everything because of the light wash.

T-shirt Dress

I recently saw that Leela and Lavender started carrying t-shirt dresses from Thread & Supply and I got SO excited. Thread and Supply is without a doubt my favorite place to get t-shirt dresses from! They're made of the softest materials, great length on my 5 foot 7 frame, and so easy to style with sneakers or sandals. I wear my true size M in this t-shirt dress!

I just saw that they added 2 new spring colors- periwinkle and sage and I might have to get a third color! I own the plum and vintage black.

Shirt Dress

For fall, I love shirt dresses paired with knee high boots, but to transition into spring, I love them paired with strappy sandals or even sneakers!

I ordered this white tshirt dress from Free People, but actually loved it more in the blue and white stripped pattern because it was made of a different material and less likely to wrinkle!

So unfortunately I'm going to return the white one because I hate ironing. Lol. But if you don't mind ironing, I highly recommend it and size down! I'm wearing a size S.

Espadrille Flats

I stare lovingly at the Chanel espadrilles every year, and wonder what it would be like to drop $1k on a pair of espadrilles lol. Since I haven't struck it rich yet, these amazing Target dupes will do the trick!

Espadrille flats are great to wear with jeans, shorts, or dresses- and I love how they feel more elevated than sneakers without sacrificing comfort.

I have another pair of espadrilles from Sam Edelman from last season I'll be wearing on repeat again this year!
