Eeeek- it is almost April...which means almost BABY MONTH! I can hardly even believe how soon he will be in our arms. It's truly the wildest and most incredible feeling! Almost as wild as our nursery furniture adventure...hahahaha.
When we found out we were pregnant in September, we immediately jumped into ordering his chair, crib, and dresser since the supply chain crisis was really taking over the news. We thought if we ordered everything by the first week of October, we would have everything in place by January.
Well, unfortunately for us, that was not the case haha. We kept getting notifications that our furniture was on backorder until January...then February...then March...then our crib notification said delivery expected in May! (Mind you- this was in November that we were receiving these notifications).
Thankfully, his chair arrived in January (I almost cried of joy when it showed up on our doorstep). But the crib and dresser we originally picked out kept getting pushed back with no end in sight, so we decided to cancel our original order and pick a new crib and dresser last minute.
As of two weeks ago- all of his furniture showed up and I think I almost hugged the Pottery Barn delivery staff because I could hardly believe it was in our home!!
I knew I wanted the theme of his room to have a really beautiful, soft grey as the main color tone- that way the furniture we bought could be used for future kids (and maybe a future daughter!) as well.
Paint colors:
For the accent wall, we hired a professional painter and a separate professional carpenter to make the accent wall. I am OBSESSED with how it turned out!! The grey color we picked was Sherwin Williams "Zircon" and the white color is Sherwin Williams "Greek Villa."
The furniture selections:
Crib: Went with the Fillmore collection crib and it is stunning. The perfect gender neutral crib in my opinion!
Crib sheets/blanket: I also went with the Newton Mattress since it is so breathable. Super impressed by this mattress brand!
Changing table: This dresser is the new one we went with (as seen in photos). I LOVE it. We originally picked the "Rory" selection from PB Kids but due to supply chain, cancelled and went with the Fillmore collection.
Mirror: I bought this mirror from West Elm outlet and even though it is stunning and was a heck of a deal, it was a PAIN to put up and so heavy. Here is a similar option.
Bookshelf: This is a bookshelf my mom picked out and sent to us and I DIE over how stinking cute it is. It's like a hundred acre woods themed bookshelf and looks so whimsical in the room.
Lamp: Goes with the bookshelf theme! Sooo cute and has great light.
Side table: Found this side table from Home Goods and it was a super dark gray. It was only $65, so I decided to take it home and paint it the same color as the accent wall and I love it! The drawer isn't the most functional and is really hard to use, but for the cost I can't complain.
Bear picture: My mom found this sweet mama and cub bear photo from an Etsy shop in Australia! I got the photo framed at Hobby Lobby and they did an incredible job. I took the picture in and they custom fit the photo into a frame & were SO helpful. The cost of the framing process was also 50% off and a huge steal versus going into a custom framing store!
Bear rocker: A gift from the SWEETEST friends and photographers, Luisa and Douglas! I can't handle how adorable it is in the room.

T-minus 9 weeks until his arrival!! Do you think he will come early or right on time?!
X,
Style and Steph
